21 weeks and 4 days until Glastonbury!

I’m not counting, honest!

My photoaday offering today is of sunset at last year’s Glastonbury festival That was our fourth year in a row at Glastonbury and we were lucky enough to get tickets for this year’s festival. Anyway I’m sure I’ll be posting more about Glastonbury, as the date gets closer, meanwhile…

I had the highest number of visits to my site yet yesterday, not sure whether it was mentioning Peter Gabriel that attracted the visitors or, and as you can imagine, this is Devon’s theory, whether it was Devon’s exam results?

She was well impressed this morning when I told her that someone from New York had congratulated her on her results, so thanks to my blogging buddy Marcia at Inside Journeys

The other post this week that got a few hits was my encounter with the Conscientious Constable - not sure what to make of that!

Looking at the comments I’ve made on other blogs, in addition to Inside Journeys, it seems that DarkStarBurning is the blog I comment on most, I maybe ought to be worried about that!

Anyway, I think it’s about time I added these two blogs to my blogroll, so a bit of housekeeping required, as I’ve still got to “wear my postaday2011 with pride” yet….

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Dead jealous about the Peter Gabriel and Glastonbury thing. Always wanted to go see both but lacked either a) cash or b) the ability to sleep in a tent ankle-deep in mud.

      Yes, I am slightly worried!
I must admit the price of tickets has seriously curtailed my gig going, especially as I’m alledgedly a responsible adult with commitments!
As for sleeping in a tent ankle deep in mud, so far out of the four we’ve been to, only the first, in 2007, got to that stage. It rained all weekend, by the sunday night the site looked like the Somme, which probably explains my trenchfoot!

Hey Tony, I had to look up Glastonbury. What a lineup! So do you go during the week or on only the weekend? How do you decide which groups to see? That’s always the problem for me – deciding who to see when the lineup is so full. So Peter Gabriel and Glastonbury? Man, your year has started off with a bang!
Tell Devon I expect to hear more good news about her.
Your NY piece inspired me. I’ll do a short post on Coney Island. Unfortunately, when you return, it will have changed. A developer has gotten involved – and here, that usually means the character of a place changes dramatically. The beach will probably not be accessible anymore or be free. Will see.

Hi Marcia, the main event takes place throughout Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but we tend to go down on the thursday, there’s usually some bands on then. As for how we decide on who to see, I tend to have a list of must-sees and work around those. There’s that much going on though, it’s quite easy to get sidetracked, but then that’s part of the fun. Then there’s all the socialising….
So yes it’s been a good start on the music front, what about you do you get to many gigs? When I was across in New York, there seemed to be quite alot of gigs going on.
A post on Coney Island would be good, I’m thinking of doing a series of posts on my recent trip, once I’ve sorted my photos out!
As for Devon, I’ll tell her!

I’d be very distracted, Tony. It sounds like fun though. In the summer time, I try to go to as many concerts as I can. There are usually quite a few in Central Park and most of the other parks around the city. All of them are free. There are also quite a few lunch time concerts. In addition, there are the paid ones — at Madison Square Gardens, BB King’s, etc.

Can’t wait to see your photos!
